shirt reprintsHi. We are sending this e-mail because we have finally gotten some work done on a long-overdue project: the reprinting of every SWIL t-shirt ever made. You are receiving this message because you have some current or former involvement with SWIL or SWAPA, because you indicated interest in receiving it, or just because we felt like pestering you. If this e-mail has reached you in error, or more than once, we apologize. We will be sending one reminder e-mail shortly before the order deadline - please tell us if you do not want to receive that message. So, what exactly is this project? As far as we can tell, there have been 19 SWIL shirts and 3 reunion shirts printed since SWIL started. Most people don't have most of the shirts, either because they forgot to order one, got stuck with the hot pink shirt when the printers messed up, have worn theirs out over the years, or simply because they were in elementary school when the shirt was first printed.
So we want to remedy this situation. The t-shirt archive is online at:
http://www.swil.org/shirts/index.htmlso you can take a look at the pictures for yourself. We have nicer versions of at least a couple of the drawings than what's online - just ask if you have questions about a specific drawing. Also note that the page contains the design for the much-belated, never-before-printed, 20th reunion t-shirt (that reunion happened in fall 1998). Now is the time to order copies of that shirt.
How to order shirts:
- All orders must be placed by midnight on Wednesday, 28 February, 2001.
- Please send all orders by e-mail to shirts@swil.org.
- Orders should include:
- the year number, size, and colour desired for each shirt you want (more about colours later)
- your mailing address
How much will shirts cost?
We don't know yet - it depends how many people order each shirt. If you ask for a shirt and don't specify otherwise, we will consider your order final unless that design costs more than $9 for a one-sided shirt, or $11 for a two-sided shirt (plus $1 for shirts in sizes XXL or higher). If we get few enough orders for a given shirt that it would cost more than that, we'll get back in touch with you before placing the order. What colours are available?
The shirt colours available are online at:
http://www.swil.org/shirts/reprint/colors.htmlAs explained there, it is much cheaper if we print each shirt using either white ink or black ink, but not some of both. We defaulted to black ink for all shirts except the 1996 ("We have contacted your earth governments and they have refused our existence") shirt. However, feel free to let us know if you really want a given shirt in a dark colour - we can make some changes based on consensus.
We will not make any changes to your order without asking your permission.
What brand of shirt are we using?
Last year's SWIL shirt ("It's 12 o'clock. Do you know where your children are?") was printed on Gildan 100% cotton shirts. These seem pretty durable, so we're using them again. If you've read this far, cool! Happy shirt-buying!
