The Second Hand Store Scene: Typical small-town shopping district. Camera pans from two-lane road to various storefront windows parallel thereto. A few cars go by, and we see a man walking along the sidewalk. Camera zooms slightly in on him; we see his face, as he enters clearly-labelled "Second-Hand Store". Cut to shot from inside; hear ringing bell (chimes on door tinging). Camera again widens, slightly pans to follow man as he enters. Wall of shop is filled with small thin pieces of metal, hanging vertically from protruding hangers (details too small to be seen). Man peruses, selects one and takes it to cash register. From behind the man's back, see him talking to what must be the cashier. Price rings up on slightly old-fashioned register; from around the back of the man we see cashier putting metal in small paper bag, handing it to man. Man takes bag, goes to door (waving before exiting). From inside, through plate glass window of store see man walking off along sidewalk. Fade out, in on front of house. Man, walking from offscreen on sidewalk, comes house, goes up walkway, enters. Inside camera shows man enter room, take metal out, walk up to analog clock. He attaches metal to clock face; it begins to spin around (at one rotation per minute, naturally). Hold on man watching clock. Fade.
