Hello everyone! This is James, and I've found an idea I kind of like. Discussed at the final '86-'87 SWIL meeting was the concept of the PEANUTS gang at Swat. What they would be like, what they'd major in, etc. I am thinking of attempting this bizarre task, in short story format, over the summer, or in the fall. I, being only a freshman, am not going to be able to tap fully into the vast realm of Swarthmore legend and folklore, so sme nifty ideas for characters might not occur to me. THEREFORE, I am asking, appealing to you, the SWIL community, to in your spare moments, (both of them), give me any thoughts you might have, on who wuld be what. I'll check this file periodically, and who knows, maybe something will turn up in BEM next year! Thanx a lot, JD I'll start things out: Sally would be a psych major, Peppermint patty a women's studies major and on the Rugby team, and Marcie would be the Rugby manager, and always call her professors 'Sir.' Schroeder studies under P.G.S, majoring in Music, Frieda is trying to hide her cat from Cigus, and Linus is a Phil major, and yes, he still has his blanket. Pig-pen would be either a bio or an archaeology major. (Ahh, smell that bouquet - Pompeii, 2 A.D.) ahem. i believe LUCY is the psych major as well as being a prominent member of the football team. True, Lucy is a psych major, but she is too intellectual and refined to play rugby. But now, instead of teasing Charlie Brown with a football, she leads him on sexually, then pulls away. Actually, Sally must be majoring in either physics or engineering, and I'd think Marcie would be a History (honors) with a minor in Math -Rda I notice everyone is staying away from C.B. himself. I think he'd be one of those folk who change their majors every six months -- even at 19, he's _still_ wishy-washy. He'd also work in an anonymous McCabe job, and live in Willets, and hate every minute of it, but not have enough backbone to speak up and do something about it. Also, PEANUTS would now add a new character -- Chuck's roommate. Interesting concept there... What kind of roommate would he have? The same one he had when he went to camp one summer - we never saw his face, and all he ever said to poor Charlie Brown was, "Shut up, and leave me alone!"
