fixed and we will have the big room for the rest of the year. except
for one meeting.

a movie at that time in order to get movie money; if so. general
feeling supported proposing Forbidden Planet and Fahrenheit 451. and
trying to cosponsor 2OOl with Movie Committee. There is also a lot of
support for showing Metropolis. a silent classic from 1926. We have not made a
final committment. If Movie Committee turns us down for s~

The planned tr-ip to see Star- Trek III is off. since the movie will not b-
open until June 1. ~... Jce E~r:st~s is sholi.ling now at a theater near-.J-
us! For those or you who have not heard of this movie. it billed ~
Jitself as "a totally spaced-out adventure." with "action-packed action"
!\and "SPACE HERPIE the Love Bug." Previews include Star Wars ripoffs
and robots practicing karate. The Inquirer calls it "unspeakably
tasteless... head and shoulders below anything done in science fiction
in rec ent memory" (see reviews on SWILboard and in SWIL.NOTICES). We
will be going in the Student Council van this coming Saturday to the 1 p. m.
show. Admission is $2.50. If you will be coming. please call
Shoshanna or Jed at x7188 and let us know. so we will have some idea of

Other news: Shoshanna has written to the Campus Crusade for Cthulu.
The address she has for them is at least two years old, but with luck
they are still ar-ound. A flyer from them is on the SWILboard. Jd
anything li.Ie get from them will also go there.

We have written to Ben Bova's agent asking about having him here to
speak. He has been editor of Analog and is a pretty renowned author as
well. When we hear something. we'll let you know. 

The March Locus is out.

The reading went well. and was still going well when I (Shoshanna) had to leave.
There were ten or eleven people there. plus three alums (well. I suppose alums
are people too). Did everyone see the reference to "SWIL fi1ksings" in a phoenix
article on Friday?
