--The-- Campaign for Sucharitkul in '81 newsletter March 4, 1981 (formerly SWILnews) will not appear this week so that we may bring you the following special program PHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCONPHILCON Okay, guys, here's the deal. Tonight, Friday Nov. 14, people are going in on the 5:51 Media local (meeting at the train station) and coming back on (probably) the last Media local at 12:55 a.m. Tomorrow, we have the van, and expect to go out there at 12 noon, leaving from Parrish east end (the circle by the rose garden) and we'll return around 2-3 a. m. P1ans for Sunday are still unclear--will be announced after a program is examined. There's still space in the van--if you want to come into the con, just show up either at the train station at 5:51 today, or just don't worry about having not signed up, and just show up at the east end of Parrish at 12 tomorrow. Information about the con is on the SWIL bulletin board. ----------------------------newpage--------------------------------------- A few quick notes for before we go away for break... --Balticon--the address for registrations is B.S.F.S., Inc., P.O. Box 686, Baltimore, MD 21203. Dates are April 17-19 (Easter weekend), and the van is going with (at this point) at least four people. More would, of course, make that cheaper. Guest of Honor, to remind every- one, is John Varley. --T-shirts. We'll discuss designs right after break for the SWIL shirt for 1981. My only comment on these is that unlike last year's, these new shirts ought to say Swarthmore somewhere on them. Remember, the scheme this year is to try to sell some extras at Balticon and here on campus to build up an independant SW[L transportation fund. --We'll have a meeting on Sunday, March 15, the day we all get back from break at 9:00 p.m. How about Willets Main Lounge for a meeting place? --For anyone seriously interested, I've got a copy of the Hugo nomina- tion ballot for this year. Anyone who wants to fill it out and send it in must register in Denvention. Supporting membership is $15. Get lots of votes in for Somtow! --Letters to potential workshopers and speakers will be sent out over break. Kevin's assigned to get further inf ormation from FFS and the Cooper Foundation for financial support; we should get our proposal into pretty good form pretty soon, so think about exactly how we want to operate this. --_Unicorn_Star_ is due soon, and then we'll have to turn around and do another issue, so work on material after break. (and during break). That's all I can think of for the moment. BALTICON IS GoH John Varley
