From jgoldie @ sccs.swarthmore.edu Sun May 15 23:37:14 2005 Date: Sun, 15 May 2005 11:18:09 -0400 (EDT) From: Jillian G. Waldman Reply-To: presidents @ swil.org To: SWILnews Subject: SWILnews #12 of Love and Apathy ------------------------------ |SWILnews #12 (April 23, 2005) | ------------------------------ Meeting was called to disorder at 12:09 pm. The presidents love each other. Jim moved that the presidents be called the non-presidents. Fist objected strongly; Curtain was in a state of shock at this attack on Tradition, and was able to raise no decent objections. Jim further proposed that the presidents should be peached at Inauguration, and then re-peached at the end of the year. The rabble passed the motion, over the objections of the (non)presidents, thus breaking the purity test completely. Walpurgisnacht was the following Saturday. You were supposed to give Jerome $3 before Walpurgisnacht or $4 at it, if you wanted food. If you ate food and still haven't paid him, give him $5 now. His address is available via the SWIL contact list, and he'll be in ML over the summer. Remembrances was May 7th. Anyone who knew a non-dismembered senior was enjoined to come up with a sentience proof and drag them to meeting. Movie Nominations occurred. Species was declared to contain "too much sucking, not enough softcore porn." A separate movie voting email will be sent out. It was voted that the Wizard of Speed and Time should be shown during reading week, because it is shiny. Curtain proposed that we should vote to give it back its exception to the three-year limitation on how often we can show movies. Her motion failed, due to all you people who haven't seen it yet. SWILmovie the next week was Baron von Munchausen. After all that searching, it turned out that Mary had had a copy all along. Pity she wasn't here two years ago. BEM might have still been accepting subscriptions at the time of this meeting (though not of this writing). Elaine won the lottery, receiving a Spider-man action figure. NonSWILbusiness: Andrew was planning to run Clay-o-Rama during reading week. There were softball playoffs at 4. There was a contra, followed by gaming, as well as an SCDC LAN party in SC 199. There was a Red Light Green Light party in Paces. Sadly, there was no Wink (or RLGL). It is unclear why the notes tell us to "Sex Andrew up, you hot, hot people", but I'm sure it made sense at the time.
