Subject: Welcome back, ye weary SWILfolk

        Hope you all had interesting summers (I must admit that _I_ did,
but that's another story...  I will, however, mention the key words
"newt"
and "applesauce".)  As some of you have noticed, a new semester fast
approaches, so I thought I'd send out a beginning-of-year message to let
everyone know what's going on (insofar as I know myself...).

        Our 0th meeting, alas, could not occur this year, since Sharples
had not yet opened, but rest assured that this coming Saturday
(September
4th) we will all be gathered once again in the usual place at noon to
discuss SWILish things.  Keep in mind that (if all goes well) we'll have
a
plethora of freshlings attending, so try not to scare them away too
quickly.  (freshling: "Uh, hi.  Is this the right room for..."  Peter
Wong
(bouncing on floor and hitting legs with sticks): "Yeeahhee hee hee hee
heeyah!"  freshling: (bolts from room)  Peter: Whaaat?)  I'll stuff
their
mailboxes chock-full of SWIL information, as soon as I find (or
re-write)
and photocopy the standard info sheet.  (This stuffing will occur on
Tuesday, perhaps Monday if I get moved in.)
        
        So, I'll see many of you this Saturday, where we'll discuss our
new
treasurer (Beth Bruch, bless her soul), the 15-year SWIL reunion (did I
say
reunion?  No...um, I meant petunia.  Yeah.), our Special Guest Speaker
for
this year (Mike Jittlov?!!?), the scheduled weekly showings of The
Prisoner, and so on.  Oh, and lest we forget, the annual Live Chess
match
will take place shortly afterwards.  (Hoorah, hoorah!)  Plus, we all get
to
introduce ourselves to New People. (1-2-3-jtegfeqopidh!)  So, by all
means,
Be There.  Aaron might.  :)=

P.S.  If there are any of you out there who would rather not be getting
SWILnewsi and so forth throughout the year, let me know and I'll take
