These are your co-presidents speaking. In the event of a water landing, your Eudora disk functions as a flotation device.... Yep, it's that time of year again, time to be once again thrilled at the prospect of at least ONE EMAIL MESSAGE PER WEEK! Bondage and I are delighted to be able to provide this service at NO COST TO YOU!!! Unless of course you feel like slipping us wads o'cash. Unlike presidents past, Bondage and I are not afraid to release our whereabouts. Just stick the money under the doors of ML4219 or ML4302 (I think that's where Jeremy lives. Better give his share to me in case...) Welcome back, folks! Especially, welcome to the new people who came to Saturday's meeting - just two more attendances and a nominal proof of sentience, and we rip your extremities off! Hope to see you again next week; bring your friends; we'd love to have many many new folks. Most of last meeting was a rundown of upcoming events. No dramatically new news. PhilCon is an upcoming event, coming up on 13-15 November. People who want to go should organize themselves, especially if none of them is Robert, 'cause in that case they'll need to rent the SC van. Information on guests of honor and admission fees (register early, pay less) is posted on the SWIL board, across from the M-Z mailboxes. Other upcoming events include the Pterodactyl Hunt, in October - talk to Charles Danforth, and a visit to Lloyd Alexander's house (with, like, him in it and stuff) - talk to me, Melissapline, and the Hallowe'en party - talk to Beth. A trip to the Pennsylvania or Maryland Renaissance Faire could be an upcoming event if we wanted it to be. Also talk to Beth if you want to be treasurer. It'll look good on your resume. Start planning your presidential campaign now; elections are in December. The more time you have to think, the less stupid your title will be. Trust us. Excursis for new folks here. Get email. If you already have and would like to receive your SWILnews that way like most of us cool upperclasspeople, send a note to jthorpe1 and mshaner1, and we'll switch you. Save trees, save time. Other advantages to acquiring reasonable computer literacy include various groups on world news. Not only is there a SWIL information 'n' chatting board, but there are groups centered on the discussion of Dr. Who, games, comics, Britcoms, and all manner of interesting things. Go find a consultant for help. Someone asked at the last meeting about Dr. Demento. Unfortunately, we don't get him in these here parts. But, however, our own Jeremy Thorpe will be having an as-yet-untitled novelty and comedy show Saturday mornings from ten to noon (right before SWIL--listen while you wake up!) There will be a short quiz each meeting....
