SWIL NEWS Volume 6, Number 7 October n<22, 1983 Guess what? We have the bigger reserved dining room reserved for us for the next few weeks. This is because once again we had another round of good attendance. Present were: Heather Whipple, Jay (he who did a marvelous job on the contents and index of the filkbook) Scott, Matts Katinsky and Wall, Jack Sutherland, Ed Ervin, Scott Moore, Michele Gamburd, Jed Shumsky (the birthday boy himself!), Shoshanna Green (practically interchangeable, those two!!), Ellen Sasse, Alison Knapp, Joe Ruff, Ben Fulves, Gwen Riles, Esther Oey (vey!!), Ben Felzer, a mysterious prospective, Scott Schwartz, Sherry, Stefan, and the invisible presence of Barbara (who typed some of the above), and myself. Next up for amazing privileges are Ben Fulves, Scott Schwartz, Gwen, Edwin, and Jack. That may have been an attendance record above there!!! Many exciting things were decided at the meeting and since then about the pterodactyl hunt. Many things are going on which you probably know. Do what what you should do and do it well. Good luck all of you. Don't blow it. We had a good attendance at both showings of _Dark_Star_. Unfortunately Matt Wall did not make movie committee. I hope that we do succeed in cosponsoring a movie with movie committee. I am not sure what we are allowed to do with the $100 going towards that if we don't get one approved. Meanwhile we do have money to get some movies on our own. Jed has finally received the official budget so we can find out where we stand monetarily from him. We still need to decide just what movie we want to propose to movie committee. Are we still happy with the decision of getting the original _Dracula_ out or our regular movie funds? I received the SWAPAs in the mail today. If you don't have yours yet come and get one. There are two specs for those who are interested. The next collation will be at Philcon. Registration for that is $9 until October 31. We still need to consolidate arrangements with who is driving and staying where and whatnot, but there is time for that I guess. There is a file SWIL.NOTICES in the account the name of which explains itself. Take a look at it once in a while. Add to it also. Right now it consists of the following: ********** SWIL NOTICES************** I. To see what they are type ".l", to add any type ".c abbreviation command" I have been periodically spooling copies of the filkbook. You, too, are encouraged to do so if you enter the swil account. More ideas of slogans for the t-shirt and just which of the designs are appreciated. Alison found out a whole bunch of information all of which I have forgotten. The gist of it is that if we want multi colors we are going to have to pay a good sum of money and even then we will need lots of buyers. Of course with the amount of people on the SWILLIST now and some people from SWAPA we might build up a decent list of interested people to lower the price. Oh, yes, even though there was no one actively running against them, Jed and Shoshanna surprisingly did win the election for who will continue rule of the madhouse. Now, they can take over doing assorted tasks, such as writing the SWIL NEWS as soon as they want. We can have an official recognition of the Dynamic Duo at an appropriate time. We will need a good title for them.
